Scientists have found bovine TB in a feral wild boar for the first time in the UK. The discovery may raise fears among farmers that boars, along with badgers, could be contributing to bovine TB in cattle – but the researchers say the porcine species poses a low risk of spreading the disease to livestock or humans.

China reopens to U.S. pork

China this afternoon gave notice that it is ready to accept imports of U.S. pork, following negotiations between Chinese and U.S. officials in March that led to an agreement in which China pledged to reopen its markets to U.S. pork. U.S. pork produced on or after May 1 can now be exported to China.
