The organization emphasized that the main objective was to connect science, technology, and field experience to bring about real change. Gratien Theriault, Head of Business Development for Latin America and Europe, explained that the focus goes beyound providing products: it’s about developing comprehensive solutions. One of the key areas was “blend feeding” a strategy that adapts the diet mix to production needs, along with sustainability and animal welfare.

Natalia Rimi Heisterkamp, Executive Vice President of Jyga Technologies, emphasized that this event maintains the spirit of its first edition in 2022: looking to the future of pig farming and highlighting precision nutrition as a strategic pillar.

The technical agenda of GSS 2025 addressed the main advances and challenges in nutrition and management at different stages of production. Among the topics highlighted by experts on the main stage were the management of hyperprolific sows, feeding strategies during the nursery phase, efficiency in lactation, the use of multiple diets and precision nutrition in commercial finishing.

Cases from the poultry industry were also presented to show how this strategy can be applied across the board, in addition to advances in artificial intelligence to adjust nutrition in real time.

The breakout sessions provided an opportunity to explore specific topics in greater depth with internationally renowned experts. Noteworthy presentations were given by specialists such as Dr. Jeremiah Nemechek, Dr. Jay Johnson, Dr. Bruno Silva, Dr. Diego Braña, Dr. Aline Remus, Dr. Yolande Seddon, and Dr. Sara Crawford, who shared recent research findings on trypsin inhibitors, heat stress, oxidative stress, free farrowing, feeding gilts, and sustainability in feeding.

This second edition was also made possible thanks to the support of companies that promote innovation in the sector: Topigs Norsvin, Elanco, Novus International, Ro-Main, Groupe-Dion, Jefo, and iHT Group.

With a combination of technical conferences and networking opportunities, the 2025 GESTAL Swine Summit has established itself as an international benchmark, where precision nutrition is no longer a trend but a core strategy for modern pig farming.
