Colfapig is a new feed supplement for sows. Colfapig enables the sow to produce colostrum with a higher content of antibodies and an increased concentration of lactose and fat in the milk later in the lactation period.
Tests have shown an increase in weaning weight.
Colfapig is a two-star New Product at Agromek 2018 and is presented by A-One Danmark. The company has previously focused on feed for weaners.
This feed supplement for sows is a special mixture of C4, C10 and C12 fatty acids. Improvements of the weaner’s immunity and the quality of the colostrum and sow milk makes it possible to increase the weaning weight by approximately 500 gr. per pig.
According to A-One Danmark, the result is a faster growing and more immune weaner so that antibiotics can be reduced or completely avoided. Combined with the correct feeding strategy for weaners, it will be possible to avoid zinc additives in many situations.
