Situation of the pig production in Russia in 2016

By the end of 2016, the production of pigs to be slaughtered increased by 9.4% in terms of live weight, with a production of 4.35 million tonnes, of which 3.5 million were produced by pig production companies, this entailing a rise by 12.9%.

The main producing regions in 2016 were Pskov, Tver, Belgorod, Voronezh and Chelyabinsk. A slight decrease on production was seen in the regions of Tomsk, Murmansk and Yaroslavl.
