Throughout the month of August the OIE has informed on the appearance of several outbreaks of Swine Fever and Foot & Mouth Disease in Russia.


With respect to Foot & Mouth Disease the IOE has published two reports, one dated August 11th and the other August 17th, where they inform on the appearance of the disease on two swine farms in Tbilissky and Krylovsky (Krasnodarskiy Kray) and on a farm in Rodionovo-Nesvetakiy (Rostovskaya Oblast) with a total of 17674 susceptible animals and 199 cases.


As far as Swine Fever is concerned, the reports were published the 17th and the 22nd of August and showed the appearance of the disease on three swine farms located in the areas of Voyutino, Melenkovskiy rayon and in Bol'shoe Borisovo, Suzdal'skiy rayon, both in the Vladimirskaya Oblast, as well as in Merchanskoye, Krimskiy (Krasnodarskiy Kray) with a total of 115 susceptible animals and 40 cases.
