During the presentation of the Paraguayan Chamber of Swine Industries and Derivatives (CAPAINPOD), the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Giménez, highlighted the industry's dynamism and emphasized that Paraguay has a unique opportunity to consolidate its position as a future global leader in animal protein. He reaffirmed that public-private partnerships are a fundamental pillar for sustaining this growth and reiterated the Ministry's commitment to an "open door" policy aimed at supporting all stakeholders in the sector.
CAPAINPOD President Marta Mareco emphasized that the pork industry's growth is not a coincidence, but rather the result of a shared vision between industry and government. She stressed that the country is experiencing an exceptional moment in its productive history: “We cannot waste this opportunity. Today we have young and committed leaders, and we are opening markets that create wealth in our communities,” she stated.

Mareco noted that the industry has contributed over USD 32 billion to Paraguay in recent years and emphasized the need to maintain sectoral unity to sustain the pace of growth. She also highlighted the projected addition of 50,000 sows through various companies and cooperatives, representing a significant leap in productivity for the sector.
Both agreed that the growth of pig farming has a direct impact on employment, investment, logistics, infrastructure and regional development, strengthening a value chain with high export potential and increasing the country's competitiveness.
