Kazimieras Lukauskas, Head of the OIE Representation for Eastern Europe, Ivan Bisyuk, Vice-President of the OIE European Regional Commission, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mikhail Rusy, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, participated in the meeting.

Yury Pivovarchic, Belarusian CVO, informed about the disease control measures in Belarus. The participants of the meeting also discussed ASF situation in Russia and epizootic situation in Europe. The participants of the meeting mentioned that the current situation does not exclude introduction of ASF agent to Poland and Baltic countries. Sergey Dankvert suggested unifying the law directed at control of dangerous animal diseases. This will allow dynamic response to changes in epizootic situation in the CU. According to Sergey Dankvert the Eurasian Economic Commission is the body which can prepare and issue necessary regulatory documents. Development of systems of obligatory productive animal identification as well as product tracing and food waste control is one of the most important fields that need taking fast legal regulatory actions. Ukraine is ready to implement these measures which are worked out for the CU countries. The heads of the CU Veterinary Services have agreed to conduct a special enlarged meeting devoted to ASF control in September.
