The President of Argentina, Mr Mauricio Macri, announced, last Monday, the opening of the Chinese market to Argentinian pork during a visit to the cold store La Pompeya.

The opening of the Chinese market was established within the framework of an official mission carried out by the Minister of Agroindustry of Argentina, Mr Luis Miguel Etchevehere, who signed the agreement together with the Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China, Mr Li Guo.

In this sense, the signing of the protocol is the culmination of a long process of negotiations and represents a unique chance for the Argentinian pig producers that consider China as an occasion for growth, because it is one of the main consumers and importers in the world.

The authorisation of the first three pork exporting cold stores (La Pompeya, Campo Austral and Paladini) was materialised.
