Canada - CQA to include Animal Care Assessment

Completion of the Animal Care Assessment (ACA) requirements will become an integral component of the CQA program effective January 1, 2012. This means that as of the first of next year, producers will need to meet the requirements of the ACA to maintain their CQA status.

Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said the projects provide for dynamic development of cattle, swine breeding and crop production. There is an ambitious task to increase grain output by 2015 up to 80 million tons a year, to increase the growing of seeds of oil-bearing crops up to 15 million tons and increase meat production to 4 million tons per year, he said.

Lilly makes an irrevocable offer to acquire Janssen Animal Health

Elanco, the animal health division of Eli Lilly and Company, today announced that Lilly has made an irrevocable, unconditional offer to acquire the animal health business of Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, a Johnson & Johnson Company. The two companies have notified the appropriate European works councils of their intentions.
