Vietnam: ASF spreads unstoppably

Since the emerge of the disease there are 17 affected provinces and 134 confirmed outbreaks.

The last report drafted by the OIE/WOAH on the situation of African swine fever (ASF) in Vietnam confirms the presence of the disease in 7 provinces more. So far there are 17 affected provinces.

The new affected provinces are Quang Ninh (3 outbreaks), and Ninh Binh, Nan Dinh, Bac Kan, Lay Son, Nghe An and Son La, with 1 outbreak each. They join the already affected provinces of Hung Yen (31), Thai Binh (56), Hai Phong (15), Thanh Hoa (2), Ha Noi (8), Ha Nam (5), Hai Duong (2), Hoa Binh (1), Dien Bien (3) and Thai Nguyen (2).

Since the emergence of the disease by late February, there have been 134 confirmed outbreaks with more than 8,000 susceptible animals.
