Ukraine: the number of pigs continues to decline

According to the date of the state committee of statistics, at the beginning of December 2011 the number of pigs (7,835,800) decreased in comparison with the same date in 2010.

According to the date of the state committee of statistics, at the beginning of December 2011 the number of pigs (7,835,800) decreased in comparison with the same date in 2010 (5.5% or 455,900 pigs less than the same date in 2010).

Despite the pig heard decrease, there was a positive tendency of pork production registered in November. There were 40,200 tonnes of pigs in live weight bred in Ukraine, and 36,800 tonnes were sold for slaughter
