Ukraine: quarantine due to ASF has been lifted

According to the latest report of the OIE, this event is considered as controlled and quarantine has been lifted.

After confirmation of the presence of African swine fever in Ukraine in late July last year, the following measures were applied to prevent the spread of the disease:

  • ban on the export of susceptible livestock, raw materials and products of animal origin from the outbreak and within the 10 km zone;
  • control commission on roads from the outbreak by quarantine police;
  • elimination of susceptible livestock in the outbreak;
  • industrial processing of all susceptible livestock within the 10 km zone;
  • prohibition of movement and trade of susceptible animals and products of animal origin within the 150 km radius surveillance zone;
  • cleaning;
  • disinfection;
  • monitoring of domestic and wild animals.

This event is now considered as ended. The quarantine has been lifted.
