The SAGARPA (Ministry of Agriculture, Stockbreeding, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food) and the Mexican pig production chain are carrying out different actions for the recognition of the pig health status in Mexico and the export markets expansion.

During a business meeting with the members of the Executive Board for the Productivity of the Pig Chain, the Minister of the SAGARPA underlined that work is being carried out jointly and synergistically for the recognition of Mexico as free from Classical Swine Fever, and towards prevention actions against Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea (PED), with the aim of expanding the pig meat exports in the Asian countries.

In his capacity as the president of the aforementioned Board, Mr. Enrique Martínez y Martínez pointed out that the goals to be settled are the use of economies of scale for supplies, the strengthening of the health status, the encouragement of Federal Inspection Type (TIF) infrastructures, and the expansion of market niches for pork.
