The OIE has reported new cases of classical swine fever in pigs in Latvia. The latest report indicates the presence of 17 cases, all wild boars, found in the regions of Daugavpils (1 case) and Dagdas (16 cases).

On 20 December 2012, following the CVO order a provisionally infected area have been re-defined and extended in accordance with Article 15 of Council Directive 2001/89/EC.Totally 28 wild boars were detected seropositive with Ab ELISA test.
