Belarus stops pork imports from Moscow Oblast of Russia, Latvia

Belarus banned the import of pork from Moscow Oblast of the Russian Federation and Latvia on 23 November due to outbreaks of ASF and CSF.

Belarus banned the import of pork from Moscow Oblast of the Russian Federation and Latvia on 23 November due to an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in Moscow Oblast of the Russian Federation and the detection of classical swine fever (CSF) in wild boars in Latvia.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor (the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance), the virus was found in the corpses of four boars as part of ASF monitoring program on the farm Zavidovo, the southern site of which is located in Klin District of Moscow Oblast,” informs the department.
