The Great Coalition in Berlin has given an answer to the pig producers' concerns and wants to postpone the ban on piglet castration without anaesthetics.

The leaders of the CDU-CSU and the SPD announced last evening, at the coalition's committee, the possibility of extending the transition period regarding the ban on piglet castration without anaesthetics, that was to become effective as of next January 1st, 2019, two more years, until late 2020.

This means that the coalition parties will present the initiative, that will have to be discussed in the Bundestag.
