China's pork production down in first quarter

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Chinese pork production saw a slight decrease in the first quarter.

China's pork production dropped by 0.4% in the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the number of pigs registered in stock was 408.50 million, down by 5.2% year-on-year. There were 194.55 million pigs slaughtered, down by 2.2% in the first quarter. Pork prices went down by 7.0%.
