This opens up business opportunities and access to international markets for Panamanian pork production, which will directly impact the creation of agricultural jobs for the pork production sector and the Panamanian economy.

The company, UNGASA, S.A., located in the Province of Los Santos has been registered and authorized by the General Administration of Customs of China as a processing plant that can export pork.

This approval is the result of a nearly three-year-long process of analysis, documentation, inspections, evaluation, and joint work between the plant, the General Administration of Customs of China, the Ministry of Agricultural Development, the Ministry of Health, and the Foreign Ministry of Panama through the Embassy of Panama in China and the Chinese Embassy in Panama.

The People's Republic of China is a market with 1.5 billion inhabitants, receptive to a quality exportable offer, such as Panama's.

With this new approval, a total of three new Panamanian export plants have been added to China in the last six months, which strengthens, increases, and opens new opportunities for the agricultural sector to generate more production, employment, and wealth for the country.
