ASF suspected in wild boar carcass found in Brandenburg.
The German Ministry of Agriculture has reported suspected ASF in a wild boar carcass found in Brandenburg, a few kilometers from the German-Polish border.
The samples are being analyzed at the Friedrich Loeffler Institute.
More detailed information is expected from the German Minister of Agriculture, Julia Klöckner, tomorrow.

rytis.cepulis_2ASF virus in the wild boars on the border was "ticking bomb" and it was only the matter of time when it will jump into Germany. Lithuania was the first to talk about the fence on the border with Belarus, but comment from prof.Pejsak was - it has to have 60 cm of concrete in the earth. Maybe this news will speed up the development of oral vaccine for the wild boars. I believe it's the best solution for the future.
Germany has confirmed a total of 36 cases of ASF in wild boar; all have been within the infected zone.
The new 62-km fence has been constructed near the border between the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Poland.
In just 3 months, 4,476 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar have been reported to the ADNS, over half of the total number of outbreaks in 2019.
