Two new models have been added to the extensive range of pig feeders supplied by Suffolk manufacturing company, G E Baker Ltd, which trades as Quality Equipment.

The piglet creep feeder, made of stainless steel, comprises a hopper and trough which can be independently attached to the pen wall and floor, respectively. The sensitive dispensing system, for use with both meal and pellets, can be operated very easily by small piglets. The easy-to-clean trough can be used separately, while the pigs become familiar with it, or for milk or medication. The hopper and trough can be quickly removed via quick-release hooks. The feeder allows a high standard of hygiene to be maintained, making it ideal for piglets in the farrowing pen.

The weaner Tubo feeder, that can either be free standing or incorporated into pen divisions, will cope with up to 50 weaners from 7 kg to 35 kg. For use with meal or pellets, it has a funnel-shaped hopper for smooth feed flow and a separate water compartment served by two nipples. A handle to regulate feed release is fitted to the side of the hopper which has a capacity of 55 kg. Again, the design allows a high standard of hygiene to be maintained.
