United Kingdom: Avian Influenza - Pigs can be licenced for movement to slaughter

According to NPA, licences on movements from pig-with-poultry farms in the East Yorkshire control zone will now be granted for specific movements.

According to NPA, licences on movements from pig-with-poultry farms in the East Yorkshire control zone will now be granted for specific movements from the restricted zones.

Licences must be applied for from the Animal and Plant Health Agency (Apha) and will be considered on a case by case basis.

At present, the following licences are available to be applied for:

  • Movement of mammals to slaughter from premises with poultry in the restricted zones.
  • Also movement of poultry from the restricted zones to slaughter, movement of table eggs from the restricted zones to a designated egg packing centre, and movement of hatching eggs from a premises in the restricted zones to a designated hatchery.
