Spain: increased meat production

During the first six months of this year, total meat production in Spain reached a total of 2,878,842 tons.

According to the latest statistics published by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture (MAGRAMA) on slaughter and meat production during the first six months of this year, total meat production in Spain reached a total of 2,878,842 tons, representing an increase of 2% over the same period last year (2,823,146 tons).

Pork continuous to be main type of meat produced in the country with a total of 1,801,334 tons, representing an increase of 4.7% over the same period last year which is followed by poultry (680,454 tons) with a decrease of 2.1% and beef with 287,171 tons, also with a reduction of 3.2%.
