Genetic material of ASF virus was detected in samples of pathological material collected from swine owned by agricultural production cooperative society "Znamya Lenina" of Scherbinovsky rayon, Krasnodar Krai by the Kropotkinskaya Krai Veterinary Laboratory.
Restrictive measures aimed at the infection localization and further spread prevention were taken in respect of agricultural production cooperative society "Znamya Lenina" of Scherbinovsky rayon, Krasnodar Krai and slaughter house "Kooperativ" of Abinsky rayon where infected swine were found. The specialists from the Federal Centre for Animal Health subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor and from the All-Russia Scientific and Research Institute of Veterinary Virology and Microbiology subordinate to the Russian Academy of Agriculture were sent to the Krasnodar Krai.
