Poland reports first case of ASF in domestic pigs of 2022

The outbreak, affecting nearly 2,000 pigs, happened in Greater Poland, the largest pig-producing region in the country.

Polish sanitary authorities have confirmed the first case of African swine fever in domestic pigs this year.

The case involves a farm with 1,994 pigs (175 sows and gilts, 1249 piglets, and 570 finishing pigs), located in Boguszyn, Wloszakowice commune, Wielkopolskie voivodship (Greater Poland).

Last year, Poland reported a total of 124 outbreaks in domestic pigs.

As for cases in wild boar, Poland has confirmed 1,071 cases so far this year.
