Mexico: building of the first TIF Establishment in Guerrero

The TIF establishment will have the infrastructure for the slaughtering, refrigeration and butchering of beef and pork.

The Minister of Agriculture, Stockbreeding, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), Mr. Enrique Martínez y Martínez, laid the foundation stone of a Federal Inspection Type Establishment (TIF) in the community of Tuncingo, in this municipality.

Together with the governor of the state of Guerrero, Mr. Ángel Aguirre Rivero, the Minister, Mr. Martínez y Martínez, said that the TIF will be an important asset for the inhabitants of Acapulco, because it offers the opportunity of providing an added value to the livestock products.

The TIF Establishment will have the infrastructure for the slaughtering, refrigeration and butchering of beef and pork. It will have a capacity for slaughtering 250 bovine and 300 swine heads per day and for refrigerating 250 beef and 180 pig carcasses.

The butchering room gives this region producers' the opportunity of offering products with an added value, because they will be able to deliver finished products and vacuum-packed products to the supermarkets.
