Mexican meat exports in 2019

In 2019, Mexico exported more than 221,000 tonnes of certified meat and bee products to 65 countries.

Last year, Mexico exported 221,657 tonnes of certified meat and bee products to a total of 65 countries.

According to data from the National Service for Health, Food Safety and Food Quality (Senasica), over 90 per cent of the products exported were pork (106,132 tonnes) and beef (95,078 tonnes).

The main consumers of Mexican meat were: United States (84,870 t), Japan (74,045 t), Korea (18,895 t), China (11,630 t), Hong Kong (9,729 t), Cuba (6,599 t), Canada (4,863 t), Guatemala (3,358 t), Chile (1,363 t), Germany (1,089 t), Panama (268 t) and Nicaragua (123 t).

Exports to China will be strengthened after negotiations for marketing pork and beef offal are concluded between Senasica and the Chinese General Administration of Customs and Health.
