Manitoba’s Chief Veterinary Office (CVO) has confirmed that a third case in the latest outbreak of porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) has been found in a sow barn in southeastern Manitoba, following two cases found in the same area recently.

Like the initial sites, the third barn is working cooperatively with the CVO and has put biocontainment measures in place.

Manitoba Pork urges all producers to sign a Sharing of Information waiver with their veterinarian, and encourages all veterinarians to ask their clients to sign it, ahead of a disease outbreak.
