Malaysia will enforce its Animal Feeds Act 2009 next year. The Act is aimed at ensuring quality and contamination-free animal feeds.

Under the Act, importers without a license can be fined up to MYR 100,000 (USD 32,000) or face a two-year prison sentence, or both, while producers who use unapproved chemicals in their feed will face a fine of up to MYR 10,000 (USD 3,200) or two years in prison, or both.
