According to several animal feed industry associations, the stevedores' labor conflict at the Port of Tarragona is creating cereal shortage problems, especially in Catalonia and Aragon. This situation worries feed manufacturers who fear that they will not be able to meet the demand of livestock farmers if this scenario continues.

This dockers' conflict has been dragging on for years, due to the changes required by the European Union to liberalize the profession in the State port companies.
