Japanese quarantine officials will visit the Philippines to inspect and accredit meat processing plants for possible pork exports to Japan.

Japanese quarantine officials will visit the Philippines in the first week of March to inspect and accredit meat processing plants for possible pork exports to Japan, Philippine Department of Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala said.

He added that the officials will visit Mindanao and two other sites in Luzon where there are AAA (or export standard) meat slaughtering and processing facilities.
