The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan has informed the National Food and Agriculture Health, Harmlessness and Quality Service (SENASICA) of the authorisation for the exportation to Japan of pork produced in any of Mexico's states, after that in 2015 the Japanese authorities recognised Mexico as a country free from Clasical Swine Fever (CSF).

The MAFF has reported to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) the approval of the Animal Health Exportation Certificate through which the Federal Inspection Type (TIF) establishments located in any of Mexico's states are eligible for the exportation of pork.

This authorisation will allow the Mexican pig sector to sell meat and meat products with better competitiveness conditions, and will strengthen significantly the exports to Japan, that currently exceed 70,000 tonnes per year.
