Increase in pig production in Russia

Russian pig production grew by 4.3% between January and March 2019.

During the first trimester of 2019, the production of pigs for their slaughter in terms of live weight in all the farm categories reached 2.5 million tonnes, or 4.3% more or 47,500 tonnes more than in the same period in 2018.

The production on the commercial farms reached 1.02 million tonnes (+ 6.0%).
