Albania reported the first occurrence of African swine fever (ASF) in the country to the World Organisation for Animal Health. According to the report dated February 26, the outbreak started in two wild boars on February 9, 2024, in the forest of Gjinaj, Kukës. The origin of the infection is currently unknown or inconclusive.
