The Danish Agriculture and Food Council publishes the national average production data yearly using data collected from Danish pig herds. It is the largest analysis of productivity in Danish herds in terms of scope and thus forms the basis for national productivity figures and key figures for sow, piglet, and finisher herds.
Sow herds weaned an average of 35.6 pigs per yearling sow, which is an increase of 0.8 pigs per yearling sow compared to 2023. The total piglet mortality rate has decreased 0.7 percentage points to 21.7%. Sow mortality increased by 0.2 percentage points to 14.4%. Weaned pigs per litter increased to 15.9 (+0.3 pigs per litter).

In the weaner herds (7-30 kg), the reference daily gain increased to 473 grams (+6 g compared to 2023). The mortality rate for weaners decreased to 3.9% (-0.2%).
Reference daily gain for the finishing pig herds (30-115 kg) was 1,076 grams, which is an increase of 22 grams compared to 2023.
