Denmark - Danes send fewer finishers to Germany

As German processors switch to a different payment system, based on AutoFom, they will be seeking heavier pigs, which means they may not be so interested in lighter finishers from Denmark in future.

As German processors switch to a different payment system, based on AutoFom, they will be seeking heavier pigs, which means they may not be so interested in lighter finishers from Denmark in future.

There are already signs that exports of finishers from Denmark may have peaked and now be declining. In August and September, numbers dropped to around 74,000, compared to over 180,000 last year.
