Spanish pork production in the first nine months of 2022 was 1.78% below the same period of the previous year.

Following several years of continuous growth, pork production in Spain reached 3,755,670 tons during the period from January to September 2022, representing a 1.78% decrease compared to the same period of the previous year, when 3,810,670 tons were produced.

After record production figures in January, February, and March, with production exceeding 450,000 t/month, following the trend of the final months of 2021, production fell to 350,000 t in July, before recovering slightly in August and September.

13-Jan-2023 AndyaI find the resilience of the Spanish pork industry remarkable, with a cost of production that other european states must envy. I wonder if this is sustainable, given the often critical state of water reserves?
