The Colombian Agriculture and Livestock Institute (ICA) reminded the pig producers of the Atlantic coast with small and big farms alike that it is necessary to follow their animals' vaccination scheme and to have their respective individual vaccination registers (RUV) against classical swine fever due to the presence of Classical Swine Fever outbreaks in the departments of La Guajira, Cesar, Magdalena, Bolivar and Norte de Santander. This disease causes invaluable losses to the production sector.

The Sectional Manager of the ICA in the Atlantic region, Mr. Rafael Fontalvo, specified that this certificate is necessary for the moving of pigs, because the new Animal Health Documents for Internal Movements issuing system (SIGMA) implemented this year in this Entity will not allow the issuing of the document without these papers.
