Technicians at the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), began a mass immunization campaign in different municipalities bordering the Atlantic in order to prevent the spread of classical swine fever from two confirmed outbreaks in Santa Marta and El Banco, in the department of Magdalena, where the ICA is applying control and eradication measures.

This health strategy is carried out to identify and control the potential presence of foci of infection, which has so far yielded negative results, as confirmed by strengthened epidemiological surveillance in the Atlantic.

The ICA calls for producers to take appropriate preventive measures to strengthen the Atlantic hog production, because livestock health requires the commitment of all involved.
