55% ofthe pork produced by Chile was exported, reaching USD457 million, so the Chilean pig industry has become established as a meat exports leader, according to the Pig Producers' Association, ASPROCER.

During 2015, there was an increase of pork exports, and this is mainly explained by a sustained rise in the pork demand in the Asian market. The main destinations were South Korea (27%), Japan (22%), China (18%) and Russia (17%).
