The Belorussian veterinary authorities have confirmed an outbreak of African swine fever in this country. This is the first confirmation of the disease in the territory of Belarus.

The focus is located in Chapun, in the region of Grodno, near the border with Lithuania. There are 16 susceptible animals, one of which is a confirmed case.

Following the announcement of the outbreak, Ukraine has banned the importation of live animals and pork into Belarus.
