The WOAH has confirmed the presence of Aujeszky's disease in Papua New Guinea.

According to the WOAH, the disease has appeared in domestic pigs in the small village of Vanimo (West Sepik), near the border with Indonesia. There were 4 or 5 families with some 6 pigs when the inspection was carried out, although they generally have more pigs per home/family. Most of these pigs where bought as piglets in the city market.
