Bulgaria: First ASF outbreaks in domesticated pigs of 2021

Two farms have reported outbreaks of ASF so far in 2021 affecting a total of 13,124 susceptible animals.

The country's first reported outbreak of African swine fever in domesticated pigs this year occurred on July 17 in Varna. The farm had 124 susceptible animals. The second outbreak in pigs occurred on a large farm with 13,000 animals in Pazardzhik on August 17.

As of August 13, 192 outbreaks in wild boar have been reported in Bulgaria this year.
