Barr, Smith join Pharmgate Animal Health

Addition adds swine market and technical experience to team.

William (Bill) Barr and Chad Smith, DVM, have joined Pharmgate Animal Health as a senior key account manager and a technical services veterinarian, respectively.

Barr brings twenty years of industry experience to Pharmgate and its customers. In his new position, he will work with swine integrators to help management and veterinarians develop herd health protocols and best practices that fit each operation.

Prior to joining the Pharmgate team, Barr was the director of sales & business development of Tonisity Inc. His previous positions included managing member and president of Creative Business Partners LLC, vice president of national accounts of Med-Pharmex Animal Health, and vice president of sales and national sales manager of Agri-Labs Inc.

Colin Gray, president and CEO of Pharmgate Animal Health, says, “Bill is a great fit for Pharmgate. He is a trusted business leader and is skilled in managing teams and accounts. His passion for analyzing market needs and delivering solutions are sure to open doors for us and our customers.”

Smith brings a wealth of veterinary expertise to Pharmgate. Prior to his new role, he spent 15 years at Maxwell Foods. His roles included swine division staff veterinarian, research coordinator and production analyst and nursery finishing production manager.

He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at North Carolina State University-College of Veterinary Medicine. Smith is a licensed veterinarian in North Carolina as well as Indiana.

Gray says, “We are excited to have Dr. Smith on board, as he is a seasoned project leader, researcher and production manager in the swine industry. He is sure to thrive in this new role at Pharmgate.”
