Saigon Agriculture Incorporation (Sagri), a state enterprise under the Ho Chi Minh City administration, plans to expand its pork supply chain to provide the city with over 3 million pigs a year.

The plan will be realised after its subsidiary First Grade Breeding Pig Farm completes its new GGP farm with 1200 sows.

Nguyen Van Tan, Director of First Grade Breeding Pig Farm, told Asian Agribiz that once fully operational the farm will supply 14,400 GP/year to two of Sagri's GP farms namely Dong Hiep and Phuoc Long. Under the plan the two GP farms will produce 172,800 PS/year supplying their contract farms that will produce about 3.3 million commercial pigs/year.
