USA - Notice on Humane Handling of Livestock Slaughter

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued Notice 19-10: Humane Handling Activities and Documentation in Livestock Slaughter Establishments.

The notice provides instructions for Public Health Veterinarians (PHVs) and other inspection program personnel to conduct humane handling activities randomly throughout their tour of duty.

The notice also includes information on conducting and documenting humane handling activities, dealing with noncompliance, Humane-handling Activities Tracking System (HATS) categories, identifying noncompliance trends and data analysis.
