United Kingdom pork exports increased 10 percent last year. There was a decline in exports to all main European markets but this was comfortably offset by increased shipments to non-European Union markets, fuelled by growth in trade with the Far East, notably Hong Kong and China.

Bacon exports in 2011 were up 39 percent. Denmark was the largest supplier. The Netherlands remains the second largest supplier.

Imports of bacon to the United Kingdom in 2011 were down 10 percent.
