In connection with the cases of African swine fever at a private farm in Kursk region (Russia), 85 km from the Ukrainian border, Ukrainian veterinary and sanitary control points at the state border have been put on alert, the press service of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine reported.

In particular, urgent measures were taken in Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv regions, and in the Crimea, Chairman of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine Ivan Bisiuk said Wednesday.

“From now on, pork imports from Russia are taken under special control. In the near future, the places of irregular trade in the regions at risk will be eliminated. All of the regional state laboratories of veterinary medicine have already begun to be provided with the necessary diagnostic equipment for laboratory tests on ASF,” Bisiuk informed.
