The Philippines has imported 22% more pork this year

So far this year, the Philippines has imported 545,214 tonnes of pork and pork products.

According to data from the Bureau of Animal Industry, the Philippines has imported a total of 545,214 tonnes of pork and pork products in the first nine months of the year which represents a 22% increase compared to the 435,320 tonnes imported from January to September 2021. This September, 80.37 tonnes were imported, up 47% for the month compared to 2021.

Leading origins for the first nine months of the year include Spain (178,674 tonnes) and Canada (101,526 tonnes) followed by Brazil (58,973 tonnes).
