Pork products and other animal products are not allowed to be sent by mail in accordance with the law. To discourage illegal imports of pork products and to reduce the risk of introducing African swine fever, Taiwan is imposing fines for parcels containing pork products. As of May 20, any international parcels with pork products from ASF-affected countries (regions) will be seized, sealed, and returned and the recipient will be subject to a fine of NT$200,000 (USD ~$6,700) and NT$1,000,000 (USD ~$33,600) for the second offense.
