Summary of the ASF situation in Italy to date

Since the first occurrence of ASF in mainland Italy in January 2022, 1057 cases have been detected in wild boar and 550 in domestic pigs.

In January 2022, the Italian veterinary authorities confirmed the presence of African swine fever (ASF) for the first time outside the island of Sardinia, where the disease is endemic.
